Obituary Condolences

Florence A. Kopriva, nee Vales, 94, of Rio Rancho, N.M., and for 35 years a resident of Elmhurst, Ill., passed away peacefully in her sleep on Nov. 18, 2012, in Rio Rancho. Born in Chicago on Aug,. 22, 1918 to the late Charles and Anna Vales, she was the beloved wife for 59 years of the late Ray W. Kopriva. She was also the loving mother of Don Kopriva of Lisle, Ill., and Shari (Sergio) Gonzales of Albuquerque, N.M.; proud grandmother ("Nan") of Robin (Brandon) Bartlett of Rio Rancho and Josh (Jennifer) Anderson of Highland, Utah; doting great-grandmother ("Great Nanny") of Blaise, Keagan and Jacy Bartlett and Mason and Ella Anderson; loving sister of Albert C. Vales of Roscoe, Ill., and the late Robert; sister-in-law of Earl (Marge) Kopriva of Huntley, Ill.; the fond aunt ("Aunt Toots") of many nieces and nephews. She worked at the Chicago Times in the 1940s and at Employers Mutual Insurance prior to retiring with Ray in 1983 to Rio Rancho, where they enjoyed traveling, golfing and playing bridge. A memorial mass will be offered at 10:45 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 27, at Visitation Catholic Church, 779 S. York Road, Elmhurst, Ill., where the family was among the first parishioners nearly 60 years ago. Private interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Forest Park, Ill. Memorials to the .
