Frank Nickels, born May 27, 1928 in Chicago, attended St. Genevieve Catholic School, DePaul Academy, Quigley Prep Seminary and St. Mary of the Lake Seminary in Mundelein where he was ordained as a Priest on May 5, 1954. He later taught at Quigley and received his Masters Degree in Education and Counseling from Loyola. He worked as a career counselor for College of Lake County. Was an active member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Wadsworth. Also was a Third Degree Knight of Columbus. In 2010 was recipient of Christi Fidelis Award. Survived by wife Cheryl; children Deborah (Lee) Garnett, Michael Nickels; step-children James Hilbert and Chris (Becca) Hilbert; and six grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial Saturday, Feb. 18, 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, 15000 W. Wadsworth Rd., Wadsworth, IL. Visitations Friday, Feb. 17, from 4 until 8 p.m. and again on Saturday from 8:30 until time of Mass, both at the church. Burial Ascension, Libertyville.
