Obituary Condolences

George D. Ryan, age 92, passed away on Aug. 19. Lifelong resident of the Historic Pullman District. Preceded in death by his only true love and wife Majorie Ryan. Survived by two step children Robert (Lynn) Harrison and Susan (James) Buckingham; also two grandchildren, Tracy (Russell) Sage and Matthew Szura; and one great-grandson Logan Ryan Sage. 60 year employee of Van Sipma's Jewelers, graduate of Leo High School and Olson School of Horology (Watch Making). Former president of the Holy Name and St. Vincent DePaul societies. An usher for 77 years at Holy Rosary Church. Past president of the Pullman Civic Organization, The Historic Pullman Foundation and a tour guide and Hotel Florence Volunteer for 31 years. Recipient of the George M. Pullman Award and the Bright New City Award for his outstanding contribution to the Historic Pullman District. Family and friends will meet at St. Anthony Church, 11533 S. Prairie, Chicago on Saturday, Sept. 1, at 9:30 a.m. Memorial Mass 10 a.m. Memorials to the Historic Pullman District would be appreciated. For further information please call Panozzo Bros.
