Gordon R. Erickson, 59, of Glen Ellyn, formerly of Rockford, died at 4:33 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, in his home. Born Feb. 27, 1953, in Rockford; the son of Ray W. and Corinne Erickson (Hubbell). Gordy was an insurance broker in Chicago. He is survived by his daughters, Laura, Marie, and Karin Erickson; mother, Corinne E. Hubbell; siblings, Charles (Cynthia) Erickson and Kirsten (John) Hoogakker; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Predeceased by his father. Memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, in First Evangelical Covenant Church, 316 Wood Rd., with family friend, Rev. Doug Cederberg of Glen Ellyn officiating. Private family burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. Family prefers memorials to Bridge Communities, Inc., 505 Crescent Blvd., Glen Ellyn, IL 60137.
