Obituary Condolences

Harold Edgar "Bud" Lawton, Jr., 87, passed away peacefully at his home, March 19, 2013, with his daughter at his side. Bud proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII in the Pacific Theatre, and is a Purple Heart recipient. He received his B.S. in architectural engineering at Cal Poly and worked in Fairbanks, AK before returning to Highland Park, IL, where he practiced, until his retirement. Bud was an avid backgammon player and made frequent trips to Wisconsin and Michigan, where he enjoyed fishing and the company of great friends. Devoted father of Marc and Kimberly (Mark) Schulte; proud grandfather of Allison (Chris) Kulla, Brian (Sara) Lawton and Bryn and Sarah Schulte; adoring great-grandfather of Nolan; and former father-in-law of Judy Lawton. A memorial service will be held Friday, April 5, 2013 at 3:00 pm at Am Shalom, 840 Vernon Avenue, Glencoe, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Habitat for Humanity International, 121 Habitat Street, Americus, GA 31709-3498.
