Herman Joseph Muehlbauer, 92, of Brookdale in Des Plaines, formerly of Davis, IL. Beloved husband of Lucille Ann Muehlbauer, nee Barak for 68 years. Loving father of Wayne (Judy), Virginia "Ginny" (Robert) Goodnough and Jeffrey (Cheryl). Proud Papa of Brenda (Jon Rude), David (Katie), Robert (Trisha) Goodnough, Melissa (Jeffrey) Meyer, Marissa, Alexis and Jennifer. Loving Opa of Harland, Elena, Ethan and Lucy. Herman was born in Germany and served in the United States Army in World War II. After the war, he worked for People's Gas for 35 years. Herman was very active in many activities including the Lake Summerset Squares and on the board of directors of Roads and Grounds of the Lake Summerset Association. Herman and Lucille enjoyed taking cruises, traveling and hosting many parties at their home in Lake Summerset. Visitation Thursday, October 20, 3 to 9pm at Malec and Sons Funeral Home, 6000 N. Milwaukee Ave. Chicago. Funeral Service Friday, October 21 at 11am at the funeral home. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or stjude.org. Funeral info: (773) 774-4100.

Tom and I were so sad to hear of Herman passing. Lou and Herman have been great friends. Prayers to the family, and you will be missed, Herman. Til we have coffee in heaven!

Dear Lucille so sad to hear about Herman passing away. We had so many good times together dancing and visiting and being in texas for the winter months. Take care, we hope you are doing okay. Lots of Love, Ron and gail Anderson YELLOWROKS!!!!

I had some fun times with Herman here at Lake Summerset. He was always there for everyone. May the Lord hold him in his arms. He will be missed by many.
