James C. Vantrease, 81, of Bolingbrook passed away Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012 at the Adventist Hinsdale Hospital in Hinsdale, IL. Mr. Vantrease was born in West City, IL on Feb. 21, 1931, the son of William E. and Mila (Hall) Vantrease. He married Barbara J. Huffstutler on Jan. 3, 1953, and she survives. Mr. Vantrease was a Veteran, serving in the U.S. Marines, during the Korean war. Mr. Vantrease was a retired accountant. He was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Vantrease is survived by his: wife: Barbara Vantrease of Bolingbrook; daughter, Gaye Bishop and husband Raymond of LaGrange; son, William R. Vantrease of Warren, MI; grand daughter, Anne Bishop; sister, Joan Gardner of Fenton, MO. Mr. Vantrease` was preceded in death by his parents and by one sister, Esta Fletcher. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. TODAY, Friday, Oct. 26 at the Morton & Johnston Funeral Home in Benton with Rev. Bert Mitchell officiating. Burial with Military Rites conducted by the Benton American Legion & VFW Posts and the National Guard will be in the Masonic & Oddfellows Cemetery in Benton. Visitation was held Thursday at the Morton & Johnston Funeral Home in Benton.
