Japanese Disabled Care Home Attack Victims

Obituary

At least 19 people have died in a knife attack at a residential care center for people with disabilities in the Japanese city of Sagamihara, according to multiple news sources.

According to the authorities, there may be up to 45 others who are injured.

The suspect turned himself into the police voluntarily.

He reportedly went into a police station and said, "I did it." He also allegedly told police that he was a former employee of the facility.

The attack was the worst mass killing in Japan, which has one of the lowest crime rates in the world, in the post-World War II era.

All of the dead, nine men and 10 women, were residents of the center.
