I miss Jack, his restaurant (The Pump) and his whole family. Jack was a one of a kind person. Family Man, Friend, Father and The Best Restaurant Owner on the South Side of Chicago. He also was a very good friend of my father. I enjoyed watching my Father and Jack going back and forth with the jabs and stories. They were friends for over 50 years. Going to Schaller's and seeing Jack was like walking into Cheers. You always knew there would be a smile, a handshake and friendly face there to greet you and treat you like a member of the family. I miss Jack, his family and his beloved Pump. God be with you Jack.

Our deepest sympathy to the entire Schaller family. We have many fond memories of being with him at the Pump along with so many other friends. Great Food & Good Times! We also fondly remember the trip to New Orleans - Jack looked great in his Cowboy Hat! May he forever rest in peace.

To the Schaller Family,
I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm proud to say I knew the "Best Owner" of the "Best Tavern" in Chicago! Jack was a wonderful friend to my father for many years and I can say I will miss him. He always had a smile and good word for everybody. His family is exactly the same way. Probably the warmest, friendliest family and best example of Chicago's "Best". In my eyes the Schaller Family and Jack is Bridgeport's "First Family".
My prayers are with the whole family, I can't say enough how I feel.

My condolences to the Schaller family. It was a treat to sit down at the bar and talk White Sox baseball with Mr. Schaller. He always made time for his patrons. He always made sure you were having a good time. What a great guy. I will miss him.
Take It Easy Jack. Rest Peacefully!

Mr. Schaller was a great gentleman. He was a wonderful ambassador for Bridgeport and a warm host at Schaller's Pump. I am blessed to have been a neighbor and regard his family with the highest esteem. His children and grandchildren are some of the kindest, most generous, hardworking and grace filled people I know. My deepest sympathies go out to each of you and be assured of our prayers.
