Sr. Kathleen Edward Cullen, C.S.J., age 96, beloved member of The Sisters of St. Joseph of LaGrange, celebrating 77 years of religious life. Sr. Kathleen Edward is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Catherine, nee Doolan and by her siblings, Edward, Thomas, William, Rev. George Cullen and Catherine Mullen. Sr. Kathleen Edward's first teaching assignment was at St. Francis Xavier in LaGrange, where she returned more than once for a total of nine years of teaching in the intermediate grades. While teaching, Sr. Kathleen Edward pursued and received a Bachelor's degree in Education. She also taught at the Jr. High Level at St. Margaret Mary for seven years, as well as St. Bonaventure, St. Leonard, St. Barbara and St. Attracta in the Chicago Archdiocese for one to three years each. Her longest period of teaching, along with small group tutoring was at St. John Fisher School in Chicago, where she remained for a total of 20 years. Visitation 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7 with Funeral Liturgy at 7 p.m. at The Congregation of St. Joseph Chapel, 1515 W. Ogden Ave., LaGrange Park, IL 60526. Interment 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept 8 from the Chapel to Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to The Congregation of St. Joseph appreciated.
