LeRoy Gustaf Anderson, age 91, died Sept. 9, 2012. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Elsie (Kreye); daughter Nancy Swanson, Wauconda, IL; son William (Carmen) Anderson, Libertyville, IL; grandchildren Stuart and Curtis Swanson, Sydney and Jeffrey Anderson; brother Clarence (the late Doris) Anderson, Grand Rapids, MI; sister Mildred "Mim" (Harold) Lasswell, Boulder, CO; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Resident of Wauconda, IL and formerly Edison Park, and Cragin neighborhoods of Chicago. World War II Veteran having served in US Army Signal Corp 1942-1945 including Asiatic-Pacific Theater, China-Burma-India. Enjoyed 40 years with AT&T, Illinois Bell Telephone, and Western Electric. Member of AT&T Pioneers. Longtime Member of Salmon Unlimited. A generous supporter of health, science, wildlife and environmental causes. A master of maintenance and repair; a skill he quickly shared to help others. A pure Swede who loved the great outdoors, a playful prank, and pickled herring. He filled his life with family and fishing. He gave his family love and affection, cheer and humor, wise guidance and support, great salmon filets, and countless other blessings. A devoted husband, father and grandfather; a caring brother, uncle, neighbor, and friend. A very fine gentleman whose life was well lived.
