When Mary was approaching her high school graduation, she asked her war hero father what she should be. He advised her to join the airline industry and "have fun and see the world." Mary's look, grace, and charm assured her of a position as a "stewardess" at the United Airlines of the 1960s. Forty-four years later, Mary retired as one of the longest serving flight attendants out of Chicago at United. Over those four decades she did indeed see the world, traveling across the country, throughout Europe and Asia. Mary's fondest recollections were of her many flights bringing home the servicemen from the Iraq War. No doubt her flashing blue eyes and infectious laugh reminded the returning soldiers of what made America worth fighting for. Mary's years of service were not confined to her work, for she was always there to help those in need which she did unselflessly until the end. The first born of nine, Aunt Mary's tales of travel and adventure will be missed by her many nieces and nephews. Mary is preceded in death by her father Richard "Dick" Dahleen, her mother Patricia Dahleen, and her brother Matthew, as well as previous husband Paul Estes. Mary is survived by her loving husband Gary Spencer and her brothers and sisters. Mark (Carolyn), Anne Hill (Dan), Suzie Sheaffer (John), Teresa Severson (Fred), John (Heather), Tom, and Joe (Sarah). Visitation is at Kisselburg-Wauconda Funeral Home, 235 N. Main St., Wauconda, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, May 22, 2015, with a funeral Mass to follow at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 135 S. I was saddened to learn of Mary's passing. Although we hadn't seen each other for many years, we had many great times at work and socially with friends. I've always thought of her whenever I have made her recipe for garden fresh vegetable soup...and I will continue to do so in the years to come. My condolences to her family.

So Sorry for your families lost at this time. I pray that you can take comfort in the words found at 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14, It shows that just as Jesus was
ressurrected we can be sure God won't forget our loved ones. We can see them again. So continue looking to Gods word for direction and you will meet again.
