Peter Alan Maren, J.D., age 70, of Woodridge, IL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, after a brief illness. Peter was born in Chicago, IL on Jan. 17, 1942. The son of Andrew E. and Ethel K. Maren (nee Kral). Peter is survived by his wife of 47 years, Gretchen F. Maren (nee Falk); his sons, Stephen (Naomi) and Scott (Jean); his brothers, David (Kathy) and Paul (Nancy); his sister, Mary Ann (Tom) Sladek; his grandchildren, Anne, Thomas, Emi and Mia; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Ethel; and his niece, Juliann Maren. Peter was a graduate of Fenwick High School, Northwestern University (where he met his wife, Gretchen) and DePaul University College of Law. He had a long and productive career in investment services in the Chicagoland area, most recently serving as a Financial Advisor and Vice President at Wells Fargo Advisors in Willowbrook, IL. Outside of the office, Peter was an avid fisherman, history scholar, and collector of military medals and insignia. He actively supported many local and national charities and the fine arts. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, from 12 noon until time of Memorial Service 2 p.m., at Adolf Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Ltd., 7000 S.
