Rodney L. Baker, age 59, died at Season's Hospice in Chicago, IL on Nov. 10, 2011. Born May 15, 1952 to Harold and Margaret (Taul) Baker in McCook, NE. Graduating from Stratton High School he then received a degree in architecture from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He worked for Stetson Building Supply in Des Moines and then was a waiter for 25 years in The Dining Room at the Ritz Carleton Hotel. He loved to cook and had a passion for gardening. He also loved to travel. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his partner of 33 years, James Krueger of Chicago, IL, and his brothers, Joe Baker of Brighton, CO and Gene Baker or McCook, NE. A remembrance will be held on May 12, 2012 from 12 Noon until 3 p.m. in his garden on Bosworth Ave., in Chicago and a memorial service on May 26, 2012 will be held at 11 a.m. at the Baker Homestead outside Stratton, NE.
