Sam and I have a special connection. I found in her a light, a passion, a love, an excitement that matched my own. T'was rare in the studious disciplined world of Juilliard. We would seize the day, crash parties, and laugh until we cried on the subway. Full of Life. Full of gratitude. Have y'all seen her on the dance floor? Oh I remember the first time I caught a glimpse of her joy! She had almost a hip hop get down and funk type of style...
She was spiritually connected. She was a warrior. We created Skampertink to take away her tumors. RIP Sam. You are loved and missed more than you know. Let's have a dance party when we meet again :)

I met Samantha when she was a Pilates student instructor and I was her client. She was in her early 20s and working then in the Times Square area, then moved to another studio at 74th and Broadway and then to PT - Pilates on East 57th Street - I followed her to all. I then married and had two boys and we lost touch. She had been on my mind these past few weeks and today, almost a year later I found out about Samantha's passing upon calling her last workplace, Back in the Game Therapy. I was shocked and immensely saddened. She possessed an inner beauty and the most beautiful smile that matched a beautiful face but mostly one who possessed a very kind soul and will always remember her as such. My sincerest and heartfelt condolences to her family and friends. Sincerely, Jazmin Azize(Bronx, NY)

Samantha was a beloved member of TheaterMania's Gold Club here in NYC. We had the honor of sending Samantha to dozens of shows, concerts and events. I handed Samantha tickets on many occasions. She couldn't have been sweeter and of course, more stunning. Me and my colleagues are dumbstruck at the news of her passing. She was and always will be a bright star and it was our honor to have her part of the TheaterMania Gold Club family. Much love to Samantha's family! -Scott Reiburn

I just learned of Samantha's passing. My husband and I were her next door neighbors for several years. We were neighborly - saying hello and a friendly smile. My husband and I recently moved when our family expanded, but still within the neighborhood. I would see her around from time to time. She would give a friendly nod and sweet smile. Even though we didn't live next door to each other anymore, those gestures made NY feel like a small community town. My deepest sympathy for her parents, loved ones and friends. I will miss bumping into her on the street and her sweet smile.

Samantha was in my art history class at Juilliard. She was breathtakingly beautiful - both inside and out. One of the very special things she did that I never forgot was to write a paper on the art works she encountered while at the Mayo Clinic. Most students would have used this (and rightfully so) as a reason for not doing their assignment. But not Samantha. Everything she did was beautiful and original - just like she was. She always had a special glow and spark. I loved her and maintained a relationship with her after she graduated. I am shocked and saddened by her death. She will be greatly missed. My sincere condolences to her family and friends. Greta Berman

I met Sam in NY and we took regular ballet class together. I am deeply saddened that we will not dance together anymore. My love and prayers go out to her family and friends. I will miss watching you dance beautifully and sharing funny stories while we walked to and from class. Your smile lit up the room and you will be missed.

Sam,
Oh-We met before Juilliard, and coincidently wound up in the same class at Juilliard one or two years later. We were delighted!! How we laughed and loved and walked and talked and shared and inspired.
You were a shining star floating on this earth with a heart of gold, teaching us what Grace is. May your light continue to infect us with happiness.
I love you.
Condolences to the family.
My heart goes out to all of youl.

My deepest condolences to the entire Cohn family and all of your loved ones. Words cannot express my sympathy. I danced with Sam many years ago at the Ruth Page Foundation. We performed in the Nutcracker for many years together. I consider myself honored to have shared the stage with such a beautiful angel. I hope you are all surrounded by each other's love today and always. I am thinking of all of you and wishing you the best as you all try to pick up the pieces. I hope you find ways to celebrate Sam and wish you all the comfort in the world. With much love and sincerety,

I am a former Pilates student of Sam's and considered her a friend. She had an easy laugh and a warmth that made her very special. It was impossible not to like her immediately. She was also an excellent and dedicated instructor. I send her family my deepest condolences and sympathy on their tremendous loss.

"Sam" was a student of mine at STEPS on Bway for years; a beautiful dancer and lovely person. She found such joy in her dancing…. we will miss her in class.

My heart aches when I think about Sam. I remember Sam from Ruth Page and those care-free days where we found ourselves dancing in the studios. I hope Sam is at peace and my thoughts and condolences goes out to her family during this very difficult time.
