Such great memories of Mr. Caruso standing in the middle of that main hall at Lincoln Jr. High where he could see 4 halls all at once. Made students no they were both safe and being watched.

I attended Echo Hill Day Camp in the summer of 1975. Mr Caruso made it a wonderful place. When I made it to Lincoln Junior High School a few years later, he was a very pleasant, patient and caring teacher, in spite of being devastated by the loss of his son.
You will be missed, Mr Caruso.

Sorry to hear About Mr. Caruso he helped me in lots of ways and to the man I am today. He always told me the old days when I was at Lincoln about the old "Central School" where the library is now and how he liked teaching there at what it was like. RIP Mr. C you will be greatly missed!

I am so sorry to hear of this. I was a student of Mr. Caruso for luckily several years, both at Gregory and then again at Lincoln Jr High. I also attended his camp.
I have nothing but love and admiration for Mr Caruso, he was the best teacher I've ever had and I still remember flying his box kite (which he either made or the students made) at Gregory field and the totem pole he raised as well.
RIP Mr Caruso, it was a privilege and an honor being your student.

A kind and loving friend...our Steve. He had opinions on lots of things but always had time to listen to others. He influenced the lives of many, many children, including mine. He was an inspiration...keeping busy no matter what his health problems were. I have a painting he gave me..I will cherish it always. His wife,Doody, is my best friend since grade school in Wooddale.

What a man. Wherever he is, hope there are tennis courts, golf courses and biking paths. A garage to re-store old cars would be nice, too.

Mr. Caruso was my FAVORITE grade school teacher and he was the one who peeled me off the pavement at Gregory (literally carrying me inside) when I broke my arm and the second time when I was bit in the knee on the swings. I was thrilled when he moved to Lincoln JHS and I got to have him as a teacher yet again Sad today, but it sounds like he lived a wonderful life outside of being a wonderful teacher! Prayers to the family.
