Terry Drewes Obituary

Terry Drewes, 55, of Harwich, MA and Winfield, IL passed away March 11th due to complications of ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). He is survived by his wife, Sharon M. (nee Weltch) and his mother Elizabeth Drewes, both of Harwich; his sister Carol and niece Nova of Providence, RI; niece and nephew Patricia and Michael Kmiec of Lombard; nephew Joshwa Cruz of Urbana, and many other beloved relations and friends. A member of the Cary-Grove Community High School Class of 1979, Terry held degrees in architecture from the University of Illinois and the University of Arizona. Following a 20 year career as an architect he enjoyed several years as a property manager for MC Property Management of Lemont, IL. After he was disabled by ALS, Terry and his wife moved to Harwich, MA. Mr. Drewes was a longtime board member for the Winfield Square Homeowners Association including service as President. His lifelong passions included cooking, football, Golden Retrievers and travel. Final arrangements are private. Memorial donations can be made to Compassionate Care ALS, 774 W. Falmouth Hwy., West Falmouth, MA 02540 or to the Visiting Nurse Association of Cape Cod, 434 Rte. 134, Ste. D-3, South Dennis, MA 02660.

Never will forget you my love whether its 4 years or 40 years. You will always have my heart. Miss you so much and not a day goes by that I dont think of you 100 times. Thank you for the best memories of my life. Love you always! Hope your at peace and have found a new life that is both challenging and rewarding. May God keep you in his arms.

Terry and I attended the U of I architecture program. He was a great and friendly person and I enjoyed spending time with him. I am truly sorry to hear of his passing.

My brother loved Chicago and never stopped keeping in touch--read Crain's online every week he was in New England and sent me links to stories of interest. Now he is in the final Sweet Home. Rest in peace and watch over Da Bears, the parks and all your workplaces.

I am so very sorry to hear of Terry's passing. He was a wonderful person and I knew him when we were in classes and studio together at University of Illinois. He was very thoughtful, smart, and funny. May God continue to give you all peace, comfort, and strength.
