THOMAS MADISON

Obituary Condolences

Thomas Madison, 77, of Chicago, passed away from throat cancer Nov. 2, 2012 in the comfort of his home. His parents, Irene and Franklin, preceded him in death. Tom is survived by his wife, Elaine Soloway; her daughters, Faith (Carol Rosenthal) and Jill Soloway (Bruce Gilbert), and their children Betsy (Faith), Isaac and Felix (Jill). He will be remembered by his brother- and sister-in-law Ron and Norma Shapiro; relatives Renee Elkin and Neil Shapiro; and his Independence Park neighbors, especially Holly and John Van Essen. Tom was a wonderful athlete and 40-year-member of the Lakeview YMCA. An avid golfer, he'd likely remind buddies Tiger, Marshall, Barry, Ron, Randy, and Bill to "hit 'em straight." Contributions in his memory can be made to the Lakeview YMCA, to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, or to Horizon Hospice. A memorial service is being planned.
