Walter Kirchherr Obituary

Walter G. Kirchherr, age 91, a resident of LaGrange Park and Western Springs for 50 years, passed away Sept. 27. He was born in Stammheim, Germany, and was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Martha; his children, Karen Teegarden (Thomas), Walter W. (Renee), James (Joanne) and Richard (Clare); his grandchildren, Timothy Teegarden (Micki), Rebecca Smith (Michael), Steven Teegarden (Kaelin), Susan Teegarden; Kara and Alexandra Kirchherr; Jessica, Peter and Caroline Kralovec-Kirchherr; four great-grandchildren; and his brother, Eugene. He was preceded in death by his brother, William. Walter was a graduate of Tilden Tech H. S. and the Illinois Institute of Technology. He worked for Corn Products (CPC) for 40 years and was Chief Engineer for Acme Resin. He was a longtime member of The First Congregational Church and the Masonic Lodge of Western Springs, and a loyal Cubs fan. A memorial service will be held at 3:30, Sunday, Oct. 14, with a coffee reception at 4, at Plymouth Place, 315 N. LaGrange Rd., LaGrange Park, IL 60526. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Congregational Church of Western Springs, 1106 Chestnut, Western Springs, IL 60558, or to Plymouth Place.
