 Walter W. Gildhorn, age 78, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, late of Plainfield, IL formerly of Oak Park, IL. Veteran of the US Air Force 1951 to 1953. Beloved husband of Mary Gildhorn; loving father of Kerry (Tony) Battaglia and Kelly (Mark) Restivo; dear brother of Eleanor (the late Russell) Lester; uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. Also preceded in death by his parents Walter and Margaret Gildhorn; and a son Karl (Sherri) Gildhorn. A memorial visitation will take place Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012 from 1 p.m. until the time of memorial service 3:30 p.m. at the Anderson Memorial Chapel, 606 Townhall Dr. in Romeoville, cremation rites to be accorded. Family and friends will meet Monday, Oct. 15, 2012, 2 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood for inurnment and military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the
