Obituary Condolences

Ronald R. Ashlaw, of Chicago, formerly of Northampton, MA, loving son of the late Classie and Ralph; beloved husband of Mary Ann (Corbett); devoted dad of Cathy (Martin Doherty), Beth (Pat Carney), Ron (Angie Smith) and Mary Breunig; loving grampy of Caitlin, Megan and Sean Carney and Brigid, Claire, Erin and Grace Doherty; dear brother of Ralph (Dolores) and Shirley (Gerry Cox); proud brother-in-law of Ed (Edith) Corbett, Frank (Mary Lou) Corbett, Richard (Kate) Corbett, Patti (Dennis Lemke), and Peter Marsh; wonderful uncle to many. Chief Ashlaw proudly served in the United States Navy and retired after a distinguished 20 year career. Ron was also employed for 20 years as a stationary engineer at Edgewater Medical Center in Chicago. Funeral Wednesday, June 22, 10:30 a.m. from Drake & Son Funeral Home, 5303 N. Western Ave., Chicago to St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church Mass, 11 a.m. Interment Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday from 4 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested a donation be made in his name to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society, 875 North Randolph St., Suite 225, Arlington, VA 22203. Checks can be made payable to NMCRS (or Navy- Marine Corps Relief Society).
