Robert Splithoff Obituary
icon Robert Sievers Splithoff, 91, passed away at home in Arlington Heights, IL on March 22, 2014 in the presence of his loving family. Bob was born in Chicago, IL to the late Bertha and Peter Splithoff on November 26, 1922. He was a graduate of Irving Park Grammar School and Schurz High School (Class of '40). He served in the army during WWll, stationed on the island of Guam. After returning from the war, Bob became an early pioneer in television broadcasting in Chicago. His successful career as a television engineer with WGN spanned 40 years. Bob is survived by his family who loved him deeply - his beloved wife of 65 years, Lorraine; his children, Darrell (Vicki), Pat and Karen (Eric), eight grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Bob will always be remembered for his dedication to his family¿ a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. In lieu of flowers...please send memorial contributions to either the Salvation Army or to . A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 29th at The First Presbyterian Church, 302 N. Dunton Avenue, Arlington Heights, IL, 60004-5993. Greetings begin at 10:30 am and the service will begin at 11:00 am. Please join us to celebrate a wonderful life.
