Sister Lucy (Philip) Romano Obituary
Sister Lucy (Philip) Romano, devoted member of the Institute of the Blessed Virgin Mary for 66 years, died May 14, 2014. Resident of Loretto Convent in Wheaton, IL, she was a vital community member. Whether cooking, baking or making fudge, serving in early childhood education, assisting in Province Offices, she was the best! Sister Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Rose (Amarose) Romano, her brother Philip and her brother-in-law Gene Merritt. She is survived by her brother, Vern Romano, her sisters Viola Merritt, Shirley (Edward) Patrick, her sister-in-law Delores Romano, her 13 beloved nieces and nephews, 17 grandnieces and nephews, 11 great-grand nieces and nephews, and her 68 IBVM Sisters. Sister Lucy ministered in Chicago, Wheaton, Joliet, and Sault Ste. Marie, MI. Visitation Monday, May 19, Loretto Convent, 1600 Somerset Lane, Wheaton, IL, 60189, from 4:00 to 6:30 p.m.; Words of Remembrance at 6:30 p.m. and Funeral Liturgy at 7:00 p.m. Interment Tuesday 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael Cemetery Wheaton.
