Seymour Adelman, with 94 years of life and love, of Skokie, IL passed away in peace. Born in Rypin, Poland. A Holocaust survivor who, by 1945, was the sole survivor of his family. Beloved husband for 65 years of Rebecca, nee Weinberg. Loving father of, Linda (David) Johannesen, Pam (Nathan) Kriska, Allen Adelman and the late Esther Ann. Cherished grandfather of Jennifer (Josh Sosnow) Leavitt Sosnow, Judy (Brian Cohen) Leavitt Cohen, Adam (Lexi) Kriska and Jeremy Kriska. Proud great-grandfather of Abby, Zach and Samuel, Ellie, Zoey and Mia and Aria. Adored son of the late Allia Avrom and Chana and caring brother of the late Leah, Rosa, Shana and Toby, all of whom perished in the Holocaust. Seymour always remained deeply connected to the Lord in daily prayers and in recent years offered this priestly blessing to everyone he loved or came across: "May the Lord bless you and keep you, May the Lord shine his face upon you and grant you peace. Peace is the most important thing!" He was beloved by all who knew him including his employees and customers at the Evanston Certified Foods Store on Davis St. Service Sunday, 10 AM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Blvd (at Niles Center Road), Skokie. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center, 9603 Woods Dr., Skokie, IL 60077.
