Thomas Fulton Obituary
Thomas Mills Fulton, 80, of Flossmoor, IL and the beloved husband of the late Aleece (nee Hampton) Fulton, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2014 at St. George's Hospital, London, England. Tom was born on December 1, 1933 in Columbus, Ohio. He graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College with a degree in chemistry and was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. Upon graduation, Tom worked for Union Carbide Corporation in sales and management at various divisions including California, New York, and Argentina from 1958 to 1971. Upon returning to the United States, he worked for various small chemical companies in Michigan and Ohio before taking the position with R.S. Landauer Company in 1982, retiring as CEO. Tom Fulton's managerial expertise provided him with the opportunity to serve on the boards of several publicly traded corporations. In addition, he lent his time and aptitudes to a number of not-for-profit corporations including Chicago Theological Seminary, Bethel Community Facility, Illinois Philharmonic, and Advocate South Suburban Hospital. His high regard for education led him to help develop a Christian based high school in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico and provide mentorship and financial support to Glenwood Academy.Tom was the cherished father of the late Robert M. Fulton and William M. Fulton (Mary). A memorial service will be held on July 27, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Flossmoor Community Church in Flossmoor, IL.
