Edward Forester Jr. Obituary
Edward G. Forester, Jr., 88, of Glenview, Illinois passed away on July 31, 2014. He was born in Evanston, Illinois on March 5, 1926, the son of Edward George Sr. and Marie Carroll Forester. He attended St. Thomas Military Academy in St. Paul. He graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in Marketing. He played on the University football team, was an avid Wildcats fan. He was a manufacturer's representative for Hickory Chair, Statton Furniture, Cox Manufacturing and Founders Furniture and was owner of Forseen, Inc. He serviced on the board of Holiday Inn Owners Association, was president of the Illinois Restaurant Association, Sigma Nu Fraternity, instrumental in organizing the Festival of Lights in Lake Shelbyville, Illinois, established Taste of Chicago, served on the board of Marmion Military Academy and was active in his church. Ed married Barbara Jeffery Forester on September 9, 1949. Survivors include three daughters, Lynn Barbeau, Jane Serrano (Tony Pobanz) and Penny (Kent) Paulsen; one son, Jeff (Allison Rubin) Forester; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded in death by his beloved wife Barbara Jeffery Forester, one son, Edward Forester III, and a son in law, James Barbeau. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 13 from 9 AM - 11 AM at Saints, Faith, Hope and Charity Church, 191 Linden St., Winnetka, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM.
