Regina Rabin
November 30, 2008
Irene was a dear friend of my mother's, Regina Dombek, who sadly passed away just before Christmas last December.
So today, Sunday, November 30, 2008, as I hear the news of Irene's passing, I realize they are getting all dressed up in their best outfits and are ready to go dancing the Polish Polkas out there somewhere. This is what they enjoyed doing most and what they did every week after church until Irene went back to Chicago to be with her family some time not too long ago.
My mother missed Irene-her energy, enthusiasm, intelligence and commentary. They were two widows and neighbors who were very good company for each other after their dear husbands passed on.
My sympathy goes out to her family who she cared so much about. She was an amazing person, self-sufficient, strong, indepedent who also loved cooking, clothes, keeping up with the news and finances, and really just enjoying life though her duties to others always came first.
My prayers go out for this beautiful lady, Irene Kohn, one of a kind-always to be remembered.
