Obituary Condolences

Ida Marie Aspegren, nee Beaston, 95, of Mundelein. Services were held at an earlier date. She was born Sept. 1, 1914 in Carthage, SD, and passed away Sunday, Jan. 3 at home peacefully with her loving family and her faithful cat, Squirt, by her side. She will be remembered for her loving and caring way and the wonderful long life she led. Ida graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelors of Science degree in 1935. She married Adolph K. Kaufmann in 1940 who was killed in WW II in 1944. In 1950, she married Oliver Aspegren, Jr. She taught math at the Evanston junior high, was the Math department head at Roycemore Girls School and taught at the Evanston Recreation Department during the summers. She was on the board at Park Ridge School for Girls and a longtime resident of Evanston before moving to Mundelein in 1975. Ida is survived by her son Adolph Herbert "Bill"' (Christie) Aspegren; daughter Mary Nell Aspegren; grandchildren Christopher Aspegren, Ryan and David Adams, Lorraine (Tristan) Gabriel; great-grandchildren Kate and Julia Gabriel. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Adolph Kaufmann and Oliver Aspegren Jr.; her son, Oliver R. Aspegren III. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Orphans of the Storm, P.O.
