ANTHONY MICHAEL SCILINGO Obituary
Anthony Michael Scilingo, 57, born May 13, 1952 in Chicago, died suddenly on January 4, 2010. He left behind his loving wife and soul mate of 30 years Bonnie, nee Trefny; son Anthony Jr., and his daughter Jaime. Loving son-in-law to Carol and the late James Trefny; loving brother-in-law to Susan, James (Jobea), John, and Tammy Trefny; loving uncle to Carmen, Joe, Gina, Karen, Rebecca, Andrew, Heather, Nadya, Andrey, and Riley; and preceded in death by his grandparents Panteleo and Angela; parents Carmen and Marie; and sister Angela. He graduated from Morton East High School in 1970 and Northern Illinois University in 1976. He was a very talented baseball player and pitched the Mustangs to a state championship in 1970 and actively continued to play baseball. He played with the Men's Senior Baseball League (MSBL) leading his Chicago team to a World Series Championship in 1995. Tony was a man of great integrity, honor, and generosity. He was the most loving father, husband, and friend to all who knew him, and everyone will miss him. Our community has lost a great man. He and Bonnie owned and operated Service Medical Equipment in Downers Grove. Services will he held at Modell Funeral Home (7710 S. Cass Ave., Darien, IL 60651) on Wednesday, January 6 from 3 to 9 p.m., with a memorial service at St. John's Lutheran Church (47th and Brainard, LaGrange, IL 60625) on Thursday, January 7 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please mail contributions to the Huntington's Disease Society of America, Illinois Office, 14 N.
