Obituary Condolences

Mary Gomez-Pazzi, July 2, 1921- April 9, 2010, grew up on the South East Side of Chicago. Her father Abraham Gomez owned the Tampico Clothing Store, at 8955 S. Buffalo Avenue. She graduated from J N Thorpe Grade School and Our Lady of Mercy High School. She helped her parents manage the Tampico before becoming a real estate and insurance broker. She then opened & owned a very successful real estate and insurance office on 90th & Commercial Avenue. The services provided by her office were expanded to include income tax preparation and assistance to the Spanish speaking community and understanding various legal documents including documents regarding citizenship. Through the professional services she provided, she became very well known and many relied on her for these services. After retiring in the late 70's, she traveled throughout the world. She was a loving mother of four children, Therese Cesar-Garza, Diedre Nuzzo, Connie Berglund-Bartlett, Robert Pazzi. And a loving grandmother of 12 grandchildren Susan, Thomas, William, Joseph, Robert, and Daniel Garza; Jarvis and Darren Racine; Russell Berglund and Dawn Winters, nee Berglund; Nick and Meghan Pazzi. And a loving great- grandmother of 8 great grandchildren, Zachary and William Garza; Reed, Blake, Logan, and Caden Racine; Russell and Riana Berglund. She was preceded in death by her parents, Abraham and Lenore Gomez and her two brothers, Abraham Gomez Jr. and Jose Carlos Gomez. Memorial services will be held on April 17, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 3200 E. 91st St., Chicago, IL 60617; 773-768-0793. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
