Obituary Condolences

Elemar J. Hunter, age 87, a resident of Plainfield, IL, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Edward Hospital in Naperville, IL. He was born November 11, 1922 in New York City, NY. Loving husband of Dorothy M. (nee Slevnik) Hunter, whom he married August 3, 1946; beloved father of Kathleen (Mark) Klausner and Robert (Sylvia) Hunter; adored grandfather of Mark Klausner, Amy (Damon) Sealock, Matthew (Kimberly) Klausner, Beth Klausner, Megan (Brandon) Weis and Erin (Bear) Wegener; cherished great-grandfather of seven; devoted son of the late Charles and Clara Hunter, dear brother of Richard and the late Charles Hunter. Elemar served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a Purple Heart recipient. He was employed by Illinois Bell Telephone Company for 28 years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Elemar was also a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union #134 and American Legion Post #13, Plainfield. Visitation Friday, 4 to 8 p.m. at Overman-Jones Funeral Home, 15219 S. Joliet Rd., Plainfield, IL. Services will begin Saturday, 9:15 a.m. from the funeral home and will proceed to an 10: a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 505 Kingston Dr., Romeoville, IL. Future Inurnment: Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials to: Honor Flight Chicago, 938 W. Montana St., Chicago, IL 60614, (773)227-8387.
