Irene Renn Berlin

1923 - 2010 | Obituary Condolences
Irene Renn Berlin, age 87, left this world on Friday, Oct. 15, to start her journey to paradise. Born E. Irene Timmons, March 15, 1923, Francesville, IN; sixth of ten siblings. To love and to laugh, even when faced with adversity, was her hallmark. Irene was a good friend to many. She loved to cook and entertain. She was an athlete (golf, bowling, curling) and a great dancer, especially when partnered with nephew John. She was widow of Raymond Berlin; then the beloved companion of Colin MacDougall. Irene was the loving and devoted mother of Richard (Tim) Renn (Nida), the late Corlin Sherwood, David Renn (Lisa), Randall Renn (Julie), and Melissa Brumbaugh (Alan); adoring grandmother of Brandon, Devin, Kevin, Bauerle (Greg Worden), Corlin, Brenna, Kelly, Katie (Ryan Gill), and Douglas. Whether during the deployment of her first born to a combat zone in Southeast Asia or the terminal illness of her daughter, Irene kept her faith and her good humor. In the wee hours when she couldn't sleep, she would "talk to God." We know this gave her comfort. Now she is in His care. Memorial and celebration of her vibrant and courageous life is pending.
