Obituary Condolences

William M. Hellman, age 84, of Evanston. Bill was born on Christmas Eve 1925, in Fort Jennings, OH, to Sylvester and Angeline (nee Brinkman) Hellman. He left the family farm to serve in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. He then moved to Chicago to study refrigeration and heating, and worked for Murphy & Miller, Inc., for 41 years. Bill married Rosemarie Peiffer in 1950 and raised three children in Evanston, where he was an active member of St. Nicholas Parish for 55 years. He was also a longtime member of the Luxembourg Brotherhood of America, Section 8. Bill died peacefully on Friday, Dec. 17, one week before his 85th birthday. Beloved husband of the late Rosemarie (nee Peiffer); cherished father of Jean (David) Ryan, Barbara (Carlos) Saavedra and Edward (Pamela) Hellman; dearly loved grandfather of Marie and Chip Saavedra and William and Michael Hellman; dear brother of Emily (the late Hubert) Elwer, Dolores (the late Joseph) Ruhe, Genevieve (Vincent) Karhoff, George (Carol) Hellman, Catherine (Meletus) Warnecke and Eileen (Louis) Schimmoeller; uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation Tuesday, 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral Wednesday, 9:15 a.m. from Donnellan Family Funeral Home, 10045 Skokie Blvd., at Old Orchard Rd., Skokie to St. Nicholas Church, 806 Ridge Ave., Evanston.
