MARGARET LILLARD Obituary
Margaret Lillard, nee Butler, 88, of Presbyterian Homes, Evanston, former longtime resident of Kenilworth, passed away Feb. 19 2011. Wife of Tom Lillard; mother of Tom (Cindy) Lillard, Sallie (Ralph) Smith, Mary (John) Gummersall and Nancy (John) Dore; grandmother of Tom Lillard, Katie (Alex) Harbison, Tom and Dave Smith, David (Amanda) Gummersall, Matthew (Sara) Gummersall, John (Melissa) Dore, and Chris Dore (fiancé Kat Leahy); great-grandmother of Natalie and John Gummersall; sister-in-law of Elsie Burch. Margaret was a graduate of Kansas University and a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. Throughout her life she held many volunteer leadership positions. She taught Sunday school with her husband Tom for 40 years and was very active in numerous leadership positions, such as the Christmas Bizarre and the Annual Rummage Sale, at Kenilworth Union Church. Her devotion to others was continually shining through. She was always there for people of all ages from visiting with the elderly at the Presbyterian Homes, singing and praying with them, to the younger generations who considered her their second mother. Her beautiful smile and giving spirit will be greatly missed. Memorial Service Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Kenilworth Union Church, 211 Kenilworth Ave., Kenilworth. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Geneva Foundation, Presbyterian Homes, 3200 Grant St., Evanston, IL 60201, Kenilworth Union Church, 211 Kenilworth Ave., Kenilworth, IL 60043 or Midwest Palliative and Hospice Care Center, 2050 Claire Ct., Glenview, IL 60025.
