Obituary Condolences

Josephine Rose Parenti ( nee DeNicola ) of Skokie, peacefully went to her heavenly home Friday, June 17, 2011, after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Born in Chicago, January 11, 1926, to Rosina ( nee Scavone) and Gerardo DeNicola. She received her art education at Chicago Academy of Art, The Art Institute and the Evanston Art Center. Josephine painted in oils, watercolor, pastels, and made pen-and-ink drawing of buildings and street scenes. Her works were shown in many solo exhibits, summer art fairs and in advertising for the Ronald McDonald House. She was a passionate traveler, setting up her easel all over the world. She enjoyed the outdoors, reading and was an avid golfer. Josephine was the devoted wife of the late Salvatore; loving mother of Karen (Tony) Kanzia, Susan, and Salvatore (Susan); adoring grandma of Maria, Solly, Kaia and Dominic; beloved sister of Carmella (late Johnny) Novello, Rosemary (late Stanley) Tucci, late Pasquale (Evelyn) DeNicola, late Angela and Phil Schneider; Carmella (died in infancy), and late Vito DeNicola. Beloved sister-in-law of Richard (Lynne) Parenti, Anthony (Dora) Parenti, Al (late Joyce) LaBerta, late James (late Sylvia) Parenti. Fond aunt, cousin, and friend to many. Visitation Thursday June 23, 2011 from 3p.m. to 8p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 820 Talcott Road (at Cumberland) Park Ridge, Il 60068. Funeral Friday June 24, 10 a.m. family and friends to meet directly at Redeemer Lutheran Church: 1006 Gilick Street, Park Ridge, IL. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
