ADELE PLOTKIN

Adele Plotkin, nee Silverman, 86, Skokie died July 9, 2011 from complications of lung cancer. Beloved wife of William Plotkin; loving mother of Gail (Ronald) Lichterman, Lynn (John) Becker, Jean (Mitchell) Claver and step-mother of Laura (Stephen) Hoepfner. Adele is survived by her sister Lillian (the late David) Goldberg; and was the adoring grandmother of David and Samantha Lichterman, Ryan (Elizabeth), Eric (Jenny) and Tania Claver and Fran and Owen Hoepfner; great-grandmother of Josephine Kellert Claver; and fond aunt and friend to many. She is preceded in death by her parents, Gertrude and Harry Silverman, and brothers Seymour (Irene) and Marvin (Barbara) Silverman. She was the former wife of Eugene Tepper and Morris Kirsh. Adele was raised in East Chicago, IN and was a graduate of Washington High School '42. She worked for many years in the insurance industry and recently devoted much of her time advocating for non-smoking ordinances and lung health. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, July 13 at 10:30 a.m. at Waldheim Cemetery, Gate #227, Harlem Avenue entrance, Forest Park, IL 60130.
