Obituary Condolences

Marlys M. Welsh, nee Unger, 89, of Downers Grove, passed away peacefully, and at home, on Dec. 6, 2011. Beloved wife of Frank E. Welsh, and loving mother of Michael S. Welsh of Granite Bay, CA, and Linda K. Welsh of Portland, OR. She was born in Hillsboro, KS, attended high school in Wichita and graduated from Kansas State University, Manhattan. After moving with her husband and family to Downers Grove in 1964, she went on to earn her MS in Library Science at Rosary College, Oak Park, IL. Long-time resident of Downers Grove. Retired librarian of O'Neil Junior High School. Talented craft's woman, antique collector, teacher, excellent baker, avid gardener, skilled seamstress and an active ballroom dancer into her mid-80s. Cherished friend of many. The family would like to thank Advocate Hospice for their care and support, as well the extraordinary care of her daughter-in-law, Dr. Dorece Norris. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Advocate Hospice. An open house to celebrate her life will be held on Jan. 14 Noon to 5 p.m. at the family home in Downers Grove. Per Marlys' request, please do not wear black. Lonely is the home without you Life to us is not the same All the world would be like heaven If we could have you back again. A light is from our household gone A voice we loved is still A place is vacant in our home that never can be filled. The happy hours we once enjoyed How sweet their memory still But death has left a vacant place This world can never fill. Forever in our hearts.
