Sanford Angelos Obituary
Sanford Aris Angelos, age 61, husband of Julia D. Hertzler; father of Alexander S. Angelos; son of Helen (the late Aris) Angelos; uncle of Cristina, Steven and Michael Jantz; cousin of Desni (Tony Kuehler) Kramer, Anna (Paul Nagaro) Vasser, Christopher (Sharon) Godellas and Nicholas (Sandra) Godellas. Mr. Angelos retired as Senior Forensic Chemist with the U.S. Dept. of Justice. Visitation Monday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago. Family and friends will meet Tuesday morning at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1017 N. LaSalle Dr., Chicago, IL 60610 for visitation from 9 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment Elmwood Cemetery. Kindly omit flowers. Arrangements by JOHN G. Since Sandy's retirement from the lab, I've always looked forward to seeing him at the AAFS meeting. It will be tough this next February, not seeing him behind the registration desk. I'll miss him.

As the author Rick Riordan has one of his Greek gods point out: life is precious because it ends. My heart is breaking for Julia and Alexander and all of us who knew and loved Sandy. He was a wonderful man and an awesome father and his life ended far too soon.
