I have fond memories of Ken as my PE teacher at Logan Elementary School. He was my teacher for 5th and 6th grades in the early 1960s. He was the first adult that allowed us to call him by, what I thought was his first name, "Pat". (I was just a kid and didn't put 2 and 2 together to realize that "Pat" wasn't his first name).
Pat was friendly, knowledgeable and taught us a lot. He will be missed.

Thinking of Dad today on the anniversary of his death. He was one-of-a-kind. Miss him but I know he lives on in family.

I remember Pat from Logan School. He was the only teacher that let us call him by his first name. Such a wonderful man.

I had always heard good things about Pat's teaching and he was a tough act to follow at McKenzie. After I met him, I knew they were all true. A wonderful gentle man who wanted the best for his students. He wanted to instill the importance of sportsmanship for all and do your best while having fun.
Memories of your love ones live on inside your hearts. Thoughts and Prayers go out to the Patterson Family.

My condolences to the Patterson Family. "Pat" as we called him was the best gym teacher ever. He was a great leader and a wonderful influence on his students. He always emphasized being a good sport. I will cherish my memories of him at Logan and McKenzie school.

Ken was a great mentor to me when I started teaching physical education in Wilmette in 1971. He was a wonderful man and I know he will be missed by all who knew Ken. My sincere condolences go out to his family.

Your Dad was always at the kids' musical events and was such a great, involved Grandpa. It is great to read about who he was in his earlier years and how many people remember him as a wonderful gym teacher. He leaves quite a legacy, and we know how much you will miss him.

My favorite gym teacher! Wonderful memories of gym class with Mr. Patterson at Logan. He encouraged and supported ALL the kids, not just the ones with athletic skills. He worked hard to teach us good sportsmanship, win or lose.
