Dr. Angie Ray, nee Gibson, daughter of the late James and the late Grace Gibson; stepdaughter of the late Henry Simpson; loving wife and best friend of the late Harry Thomas Ray; Pastor Ray received her degrees of Master of Religious Arts in Christian Education in 1998 and Doctor of Religious Philosophy in Christian Psychology from Jacksonville Theological Seminary in 1999. Pastor Ray became a great ally to Governor Jimmy Carter and was appointed Midwest Coordinator of Minority Affairs. She was also selected by Jimmy Carter to serve as an at-large delegate at the Democratic National Convention. In 1989, founded Angie Ray Ministries ''Church On The Rock.'' Pastor Ray's love, life, and legacy will forever be cherished by her daughters, Cheryl, Denise, Kimberly and Tanya, all of Olympia Fields, IL; three sisters, Cora (Jim) Long of Chicago, IL, Martha Faye Hubbard and Delores Cole, both of Florence, AL; one beloved brother, Henry Simpson, Jr. of Florence, AL; two sisters-in-law, Betty (Johnny) Williams of Harvey, IL, Mary Yvonne Barnes of Chicago, IL; and a host of relatives, friends and the Church on the Rock. Dr. Angie F. Ray dedicated her life to ministering the Gospel of Jesus Christ and providing assistance to the whole man, reaching humanity - one life at a time. Home going services will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2005 at the Monument of Faith Church, 2750 W. Columbus Ave., Chicago, IL.
