1939 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
Albert Paul Juengling. Al passed away suddenly in Maryland on April 20, just short of his 74th birthday, after attending a Train Collectors Association meet in York, PA. Al was a lifelong collector of model trains - it was his passion. Al, a graduate of North Park College, retired from his alma mater Lane Tech after teaching history for 42 years. Al also worked part-time at Marshall Field's in Old Orchard for 40 years. He was a member of the Train Collectors Association, the Schwaben Society, and the Lane Tech Alumni Association. Al was an avid fan of the Wolves hockey team and the Cubs. He was a beloved brother to Ruth Beck (Bob), Bob Juengling (Anita); uncle to Lisa Hayes and Rachel and Jonathan Beck; and great-uncle to Kyle and Kelly Hayes, Elizabeth and Robert Juengling, and William, Jameson, and Alexandra Beck. He leaves behind many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Henrietta Juengling and his nephew Kurt Juengling. Interment will be at 9 am on May 7 at Irving Park Cemetery, 7777 West Irving Park Rd., followed by a celebration of life at 11 am at St. Pauls UCC, 2336 Orchard St., Chicago. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Schwaben Society Charity Fund, 9634 S. Sawyer Ave., Evergreen Park, IL 60805 or to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675 in memory of his nephew, Navy Capt. Kurt Juengling.
