iconWilliam F. Keefe (Bill) was born in Chicago on June 2, 1921. In 1943 he was drafted and served in the U.S. Army and the U. S. Information Agency to 1954, primarily in Germany. He worked with Lowell Thomas, conducting interviews of soldiers at the front to be sent back to the States. After returning to the U.S., he worked as an editor, communications consultant, and prolific author. His memory will forever be cherished by his sisters Marjane Kottcamp and Marie (Bernard) Wheel and his brother Richard (Mary); and children, Micael (Robert) Clarke, William (Theresa), Moira (Elmon) Ferguson, and Patrick (Jean). He is the much-loved grandfather of Jennifer (Steven) Salvatore and Robert (Amanda) Clarke; Sarah Keefe; Brian Larson and Paul Larson; and Daniel and Katie Keefe, and great-grandfather of five children. He was pre-deceased by his first wife Mary (Lane) and second wife Carol (Jackson), his daughter Monica Peach, and brothers Andrew, Walter, Jerome, and sister, Elizabeth (William) Krausman. Visitation is on Monday, July 15, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. EST at Sommerfeld Chapel, 15 North Barton St., New Buffalo, MI. A Funeral Mass will take place on Tuesday, July 16, at 11:00 a.m. EST at St. Mary of the Lake Church, New Buffalo, MI.
