Ken MURAKAMI Obituary

The Rev. Dr. Ken Murakami, 88, of Palatine, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 10, 2013. A graduate of the University of Washington School of Dentistry, Dr. Murakami practiced dentistry in Renton, Washington for 14 years. From 1977, he pastored the Lakeside Japanese Christian Church in Chicago, until his retirement in 1993. He recently attended the Japanese Language Congregation of Cornerstone Church in Glenview. Beloved husband of Yoshiko, father of Kerry (Wayne) Watanabe, Gary (Linnea) Murakami, Christine (King) Ng, Carol (Paul) Suzuki, Colleen (Casey Lurie) Murakami; stepfather of Bill (Judie) Taki and Rich Taki; grandfather of Brian and Shannon Watanabe, Lily and Ella Ng, Jessica, Stephen, and Krista Suzuki, and Edie Rei Lurie; grandfather of Billy Isamu and Matthew Christian Taki. Preceded in death by his first wife, Marion and grandson, Sean William Ng. A memorial service will be held at Cornerstone Church, 2 Shermer Road (Shermer and Golf Roads), Glenview on Saturday, August 31 at 3pm, with visitation from 1-2:30pm.
