1951 - 2013 Obituary Condolences
TERESA B. PETERSON Obituary
Teresa B. Peterson (Baker), age 62, of Western Springs died peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on September 12, 2013. Terry was born May 29, 1951 in Olean, NY, the daughter of the late James William and Mary Hosley Baker. She attended Archbishop Walsh High School and earned a degree in Business Administration from the State University of NY at Albany. Terry married Charles R. Peterson at St. Edmund's Church in Oak Park October 29, 1977. They lived in Western Springs since 1983. Terry enjoyed the respect and affection of her colleagues and clients during her long career in the financial services industry. She was an active member of St. John of the Cross Parish for 30 years, an avid bridge player, great cook, trusted friend, and cherished her roles as Mom and Grammy above all others. Besides her husband Charles, Terry is survived by her daughters Kristen Peterson Davies (Neil) and Erika Peterson, her sisters Kristine Baker Littrell (Paul), Michelle Baker Caya (Mike), her brother James Baker (Melva), one granddaughter Charlotte Davies, many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Terry will be remembered always for her energy, compassion, sense of humor, generosity and infectious smile. Throughout her courageous four year battle with cancer her faith and optimism inspired all who knew her. Fearless in the face of long odds, she continued to proclaim she was "still playing bridge, still drinking wine and still having fun." Visitation will be held Sunday, Sept. 15, 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, September 16, at 9:45 a.m. at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church, 5005 S. Wolf Rd., Western Springs. Interment Private. Info: (708) 352-6500.
