Annabelle Stickgold Obituary
iconAnnabelle Stickgold, 97, one of the first female certified public accountants in Illinois, who roller-skated the five miles to and from work every day, died Thursday, Dec. 26, at her home in Santa Monica, Calif. from complications from a stroke. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 64 years, Morris Stickgold. The longtime Wilmette resident grew up in Chicago, and attended Northwestern University, taking courses at night. She worked for a time as an accountant for an auto dealership and later transferred to an accounting agency. She spent her last eleven years in southern California, away from the snow and close to two of her sons. She leaves three sons, Arthur D. of Los Angeles, Calif., Robert A. of Cambridge, Mass., and Edward A. of La Jolla, Calif.; six grandchlidren, Kira, Breean, Jessie, Emma, Eli and Adam; six great-grandchildren, Avery, Brett, Samantha, Aidan, Logan and Violet. Graveside services Monday 10:30 a.m. at Shalom Memorial Park, 1700 W. Rand Rd., Arlington Heights. Info: Piser Funeral Services 847-679-4740.
