Dear Squire Family, I had recently learned of Morry's passing and I am sorry for your loss.

There are no words to comfort those who grieve but your memories of him will bring you peace. I remember the parties up at Wonder Lake with my late parents.

The funeral was so somber that I opted to remember Morrie in a lighter memory here.
He did have a lighter side. I am grateful that I was witness and participant in some of the events.

Morrie, and later Jesse, "adopted" me into the family circle when we were all young men and fathers of young children.(Our children keep in touch via--of course--Facebook) They invited us to their family occasions and we to ours.

To one form of Squire Brothers occasion only I was invited: island hopping and scuba diving via sailboat in the Caribbean during spring vacation. (My wife Cynthia didn't care for sailing, my children were too young.)

We had many adventures. The most disturbing was when we were stranded on land by the crew after an evening of dancing, etc., and had to spend the night on shore in a seedy hotel without change of clothes, toiletries, etc. When the crews rescued us at sunrise they explained that they thought we intended to spend the night ashore!

I could go on, but this is a taste of the Lighter Morrie.

We miss him.

May his memory nbe for a blessing.

Miss you

Morris B Squire was a great man. No matter how long we are allowed to be blessed by the presence of such people, we are never ready to lose them. Such culture and knowledge among people is just too special. To family and friends please accept our sincerest condolences. Morris had an incredible intellect, as well as a fantastic spirit. He was both a scientist and an artist. Few can hope to be either but he made his mark in both areas. Certainly he was also a wonderful philosopher and deserves so many other accolades. May we all celebrate the time that we were blessed with in sharing the light that he brought to this earth.

When Frank Sinatra sang “I did it my way” he must had gotten his inspiration from our beloved friend. If we met through psychiatry, business, art, family, or friends we will never forget you. Your presence in our lives was larger than we ever had known. You challenged us at every turn. You pushed us farther than we cared to go. Your example you set for us to experience the world will never be equaled. You invited us into your tent, introduced us to one another, and then quietly exited when nobody was looking. You left us with unbelievable memories and one another. Two gifts of unimaginable value. From the time we met to your last gasp our time was truly cherish.

I am very sad for the loss of a man that played such a huge role in shaping who I am and what I am doing. For nearly 10 years I spent every day with Morris and learned so much from him. I will be forever grateful to him and know his legacy will live on through Moishe House, which is named after him. I just watched this video from a few years ago that I think captures his amazing uniqueness and philanthropy.

Morris was a friend and mentor - he played a huge role in shaping who I am and the work I do. His legacy will live on with Moishe House, an organization named after him, where he continues to be a Board Member Emeritus. I feel lucky to have known him so closely. I am very sad to miss the funeral as I am in Dubai.

Mr. Squire encouraged us as psychologists to keep developing new ways to increase mental health. He encouraged me to develop a psychology-at-lunch program that I and Marilynn Rochon, M.A.,LCPC have taught entitled, "Repair My House: Mind-Body-Soul Skills For the Journey". We are now in our 24th year. 35,000 have attended over 800 sessions held at St. Peter's Franciscan Church In-the-Chicago Loop. Thanks Morrie!!
