Marian Johnson Obituary
Marian Irene Johnson, 92, a longtime Glenview resident passed away on March 25, 2014 at Glenbrook Hospital following a stroke. Marian was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts and lived in Toledo before her family settled in Wilmette, following which she attended Northwestern University and National Teachers' College. In 1945 she and her late husband, Richard M Johnson, Sr., were married and soon thereafter started their family before moving to Glenview. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and for many years an avid bridge player and bowler. Marian was a longtime member of the Glenview Community Church and for a number of years served as a Deaconess. In her later years she was a volunteer at the Treasure House and a resident of Chestnut Square, where she truly enjoyed her many wonderful friends as well as the staff. Her daughter, Barbara Johnson Lindbloom, passed away in January, and she is survived by her son, Dick (Judy), three grandchildren, Kate (Steve) Krause, Beth (Mike) Artery and Scott (Elizabeth) Lindbloom, seven great-grandchildren, Grace and Hannah Artery, Elise and Ben Krause and Zach, Alex and Colton Lindbloom as well as a niece, Paula (Frank) Spinale, and nephew, Rob (Sue) Fleming. A Memorial Service will be held at noon on Saturday, April 12 at the Glenview Community Church, 1000 Elm St., Glenview. Memorial donations may be made to the or to the Glenview Community Church.
