MIGUEL RIOS Obituary
The world lost MIGUEL A. RIOS, a talented magician, who loved entertaining his friends and their children with amazing feats, from picking quarters out of their ears to rabbits out of a hat. Miguel, who passed away April 21, 2014, in Skokie, where he lived for over 30 years, had a zest for life that infected everyone he met. He was born in Barranquilla, Colombia. After graduating from the University of Michigan with a degree in Bio-Chemistry, Miguel moved to Chicago, where he had the opportunity to work as a translator for the Pan American Games, which were held in 1959. It was here that he met his future bride of 36 years, Stella, nee Aguilar. Though it took 20 years for him to pop the question, they enjoyed life together for over 55 years. Miguel worked 37 years at Hoffman LaRoche as a Specialist Representative. He is survived by his wife, Stella A. Rios; his step-children, Antonio Eduardo Castillo (Dionne Castillo) and Anna Maria Castillo; his grandchildren, Emilio Vargas, Alexandra Castillo, and Jacqueline Castillo; and his great grandchildren, Evan Castillo, and Ayden Castillo. Memorial Gathering Friday, April 25, from 4 to 8 p.m., at HABEN Funeral Home & Crematory, 8057 Niles Center Rd., Skokie. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Lambert Catholic Church, Skokie, at a later date. Funeral info: 847.673.6111 or www.habenfuneral.com.
