There are not many days that go by that I don´t think of or thank Nancy Good. I saw Nancy initially 2-3 times a week for months. Turned into weekly visits for years. She walked and taught and loved me through incredibly difficult times. She taught me how to breathe. Later, when a major tragedy beset my life- though by then she was gone - I utilized the tools of life she gifted me. What gives you joy? She asked me that all the time.
Stay in the moment.
I´ve missed you Nancy but have never ever forgotten you.
See you on the other side.
Godspeed. Thank you for saving my life. Then and now.
~ Tina

10/01/2023: I haven't seen Nancy Good for over 25 years (I moved from my Evanston home years ago) to California, but I recently recommended Nancy to a friend who still lives in Illinois. Just found out TODAY that Nancy died: It's hard for me to believe that she's gone: Nancy was the most pure, saintly, practical, compassionate, spiritual, loving person I've ever known! I am so sad that we've lost someone who has done more good for everyone she's ever met in ONE DAY than most people do for people throughout their LIFETIME! xoxo. Nancy had a great effect on me and my husband (who didn't believe in therapy). I gave up all organized religion for years, but began attending classes and services at Unity in Evanston because of Nancy's goodness! RIP my beautiful Friend! I and many others will always love you, will never forget you and will always miss you! xoxo Gail

June 26, 2019

Today is June 25, 2019 over five years since Nancy passed. I still miss her and think about her often. I learned of her death months after she passed and was shocked and saddened. I still have a card that Nancy gave me that conveyed her belief in me. She was an amazing woman and psychotherapist. God must have needed an Angel! Nancy as I go thru yet another transition, I hear you cheering me on. I miss and love you, Julie

Thank You Nancy for all of your help and kindness. You helped me when I did not know where to go or what to do to heal and taught me so much. You had such a bright smile. I know how much you loved your family and they must miss you. God Bless you and thank you for teaching me about Silent Unity. Love Sheila

Nancy, you came into my life 16 years ago. You saved my life and gave me the tools I use EVERYDAY to make my life worth living. I am beyond stunned and grieving that I just learned of your passing. From the first appointment when you taught me to breathe to my last in fall of 2013, you have been a savior to me and taught me about love, self care, authenticity and always to "pat yourself on your back".... One of hundreds of what became "Nancy-isms" that I live by.
Your spirituality and professionalism, friendship and devotion to your work, family, church, research were what made you more than specially qualified to help others. I still feel your warm hug as we parted last, your positive smile, generous heart and faith in humankind. I will miss you more than words can express. And may the good Lord be holding you close in His loving arms. Thank you for making me whole. I love you. If anyone has any information regarding her passing, I'd like the closure to know what she died from. If appropriate, please share.

Nancy taught me the blessing of unconditional love and lived her life as a witness to the Love of God in us all. She believed in me when I didn't, and in turn, gave me the courage to believe in myself. Nancy, I see your smiling face every day and it lifts me up to a higher place. Thank you.

I first came to see Nancy Good during a crisis time in 1985, on the recommendation of a friend. I saw her more or less regularly for almost 30 years until she died, not so much for guidance for specific crises (though there were more), but for the calm, centered, compassionate, wise presence she brought to each and every encounter. Nancy had an uncanny ability to make me feel both safe when with her and empowered when I left. She has been the most constant positive presence in my adult life, and like the many, many others who were privileged to know her, I will carry her wisdom and love in my heart always. And in tribute to her, I will do my best to pass it on.

It was my privilege to have had Nancy as my therapist. She helped me through my mother's death and recent recurrence of cancer. She was an amazing, brilliant and kind woman. Her loss is devastating.
