I first met J.R. when he bought my Rampside some years ago. We stayed in touch through the years. Always fun to be with, and a gentleman always. I learnd a lot from him about Corvairs.
He will be missed, and my sympathy to his family.

I met JR through his first cousin Dick Read. I am the original owner of a 63 Spyder. I inquired about JR at Knoxvile when I talked to Dom. I always enjoyed conversing with him at Indy and the Orphan show. He stopped by to see me driving his Rampy last fall when he was in Hoopeston. Your family are in our prayers. Great loss to the Corvair nation.

I first met JR in Buffalo at the 2006 convention, courtesy of a mutual friend, Chuck Armer. What fun it was to listen to the two of them. Next year in Detroit, JR asked me to navigate for him in the Econo-Run. What great fun. Of course we didn't win, but it was all about the fun of being out in his beloved Corvair.
JR was always a true friend and will be missed greatly. To his friends and family, you have my prayers and deepest sympathy.

Our sincere condolences to JR's family and friends. We met him through our mutual Corvair enthusiast, Dom, many years back. Whenever we would see him at conventions, we truly enjoyed spending some time with him. Great guy with a great sense of humor. He will always be remembered very fondly.

My thoughts and prayers are with JR's family. He was an awesome man in our little Corvair world. I always enjoyed chatting with him at conventions and reading his musings in the Corvair forums. He was an honest and upright man and will be forever missed by us oldtimer Corvair nuts.

JR was always a great friend. I emailed with him just a few days ago. His loss is a shock and disappointment. Linda and I will greatly miss seeing him again at a convention where we had met so many times before.

My heartfelt condolences to the family. This is a great loss to the Corvair hobby. I bought parts from JR and was impressed with his kindness in these business dealings as well in his willingness to share his knowledge and expertise to others in the hobby. He will be greatly missed.

I only met JR in Chicago 2001... He impressed me greatly! You can be proud and knowing you won't be alone in missing him hopefully makes the future easier for all of you. Not many can boast of having 1,000's of friends!
